Church Services

First Church of Christ Scientist, Newburyport

Sunday Services

10 to 11 a.m.
Our Sunday services are a time of inspiration, prayer, and hymn singing. Two members read a sermon consisting of selections from the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. These two books were ordained by Mary Baker Eddy as the dual Pastor of the church.

Sunday School

10 to 11 a.m.
Our Sunday School provides a spiritual foundation for children and young people up to the age of twenty. Here the students learn about their relationship to God along with Bible-based instruction on the Ten Commandments, the Lord’s Prayer, the Beatitudes, the life and healing works of Jesus, and stories about many Bible characters. Children and young people learn how to make prayer practical in their lives.

Wednesday Testimony Meetings

7:30 – 8:30 p.m.
These weekly meetings for children and adults provide opportunities for showing how Christian Science can be used in daily life. They include readings from the Bible and Science and Health as well as prayer and hymn singing. During the latter half of the meeting, attendees get to share their healings and spiritual insights on Christian Science.

Child Care: Child Care is provided during the Wednesday evening meetings and during our Thanksgiving service as well as on Sundays for children too young to attend the Sunday School.
